My name is Johanna. I grew up in Sweden, but have lived in Madrid for many years, in fact more than half my life. I studied partly in Sweden but got my teaching degree at the Universidad de Complutense in Madrid. I am a trained music teacher and music therapist and have worked at the International Scandinavian School in Madrid for many years. It is a school with a music profile which we developed around 15 years ago. Music is a very important part of the school’s daily life.

During my more than 25 years at the school, I have had and continue to have the opportunity to learn so much about children and music.  For me, singing, music and movement are so important and obvious. Music should be part of the daily activities for children. It helps the child's development on so many different levels.
